AESTHETIC :: the restaurant feel was based on a simple, artistic atmosphere that held its boldness in material and cleanliness in color. CIRCULATION :: the seating was strategically split into two/ a more private and intimate area offering a booth and table seating, where customers can watch their food being made from the kitchen window, and an area closer to the neighboring buildings and outdoor seating. CENTER : in order to successfully separate the seating areas while still maintaining the lively warmth of a bakery, the core counter was carefully designed to contain the central oven, display area, bar seating, and create an ease of movement for waiters and staff. DETAIL :: versailles-patterned wood flooring gives both warmth and detail to the simplicity of white walls touched with a “worn down” peeling effect at the very edges, to oppose the formality within the space. FURNITURE :: iron studded waiter stations were customized for the space, and furniture selection included a variety of mismatched, neutral colored chairs. KITCHEN :: the kitchen was an especially exciting area of the space, designed as if it was a small bakery on a street placed right in the middle of the restaurant. glossy white tiling gave it a polished shine, and a grand black/grey marble serves as the kitchens solid base, being the core of a bakery concept. RESTROOMS :: custom door handles, travertine stone, and brass frames gave the restrooms understated elegance.

CUSTOM FURNITURE
AESTHETIC :: being one of the first high-end barbershops in the area, ‘leather chair’ held so much potential for customization and quality. men’s grooming was not just a task for this project, rather a full experience. functions included massage, facial and nail care, as well as an array of hair styling/treatments. AESTHETIC.derived from the essence of old-town barbershops infused with a clean touch. the idea behind the shop design was to allow the customer to groom in a space that was fresh, polished, yet comfortable.ZONING. the plan’s initial layout (seen at the end of the page) was derived from shape variations of a scissor, the classic and essential barber tool. the narrow verticality of the space helped in creating a plan that followed the process of a customers’ visit. the goal was to create a lively and intimate space, so stairs were changed from a back stairway to the spiral core that daylight gleamed right through.STATIONS.the backend of the shop served as hair washing stations, storage and sterilization area, as well as ventilated stations for hair dying and treatments. \the area was covered in fresh oyster green tile, and color coordinated customized wood cabinets wrapped all necessary functions neatly.
